Journal, written at Indented Head, while guarding the interests of the Port Phillip Association in the absence of John Batman. The entry for 6 July describes the discovery of William Buckley, the 'wild white man'. The diary includes a list of goods left by Batman for trade, list of provisions 'brought over', list of the names of the natives and a list of the native words for flour, water etc.
